Savannah Weatherington, MA, LPC, R-DMT

From an early age, I recognized the healing potential of creative expression, igniting a lifelong passion that continues to drive my practice. Embedded within my core values is the belief that each individual possesses an innate capacity for learning and creativity. This belief spurred my pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from The Ohio State University, with a focus on dance. While immersed in the world of movement and artistic expression, I became intrigued by the profound impact that creativity had on my well-being and those around me. This curiosity led me to earn a second degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

The convergence of creativity and psychology became the heart of my professional path. I obtained a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specializing in dance/movement therapy. Today, as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Colorado, and a registered dance/movement therapist (R-DMT) through the American Dance/Movement Therapy Association I bring close to a decade of experience in a variety of clinical settings to the therapeutic relationship.

I have an eclectic therapeutic approach and use a diverse range of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, expressive arts, and somatic practices, all grounded in the principles of mindfulness. I view mindfulness as a transformative tool, guiding us to embrace the present moment and re-center ourselves amidst life's complexities.

With a particular focus on adolescents, young adults, and adults, my practice extends a safe and supportive environment for fostering self-comfort, empowerment, and introspection. My Peruvian-American heritage instills a commitment to addressing matters of identity and oppression with sensitivity and empathy, as I actively contribute to the healing process.

Outside my practice, I am constantly outdoors. Yoga, camping, snowboarding, dirt biking, hiking, backpacking – they're part of my vibrant life. Relationships are my cornerstone; they thrive on connection, curiosity, and authenticity. I'm not just a therapist; I'm a daughter and creator – a seeker of purpose and meaning.

Join me on a journey of self-discovery and transformation, where creativity and psychology converge to light your path forward.
